Life -and, death

While standing at my mezah this morning I got a phone call. That has never happened to me before...

It was a sister in law who told me about the serious health situation a brother in law (not her husband, but another brother in law) was suffering from.. His days are counted :-( I wrote about him in this diary before. He was the one who let me feel I am not alone here and I am his family even though the one who made us family stepped out of the family "thing". Although he didn't help me practically very much his support mentally was invaluable.... He was also the one we, the ex and me, was offering to live in his apartment when I just came to Israel so, I have very, very fond memories of him.

I am SO sad. I am crying and crying and I wish there was someone who could share this pain with me, but.... the one I separated from I heard wished his brother to be in hell.... How could I have been so wrong when I was young when falling in love with him? Was I that blind??

I have a million photos I took today which I will play underneath but the first thing I would like associated with this day is the clip of a song that mellows out my heart and makes me feel not ashamed of my pain, Didou Nana:

about being young, about being mindless. about falling prey to the wolves amongst us and about the ones I dragged with me in my feelings and hold dear to me forever, when traveling the road of life ....

for the captions one can have a look at my flickr account - my head isn't into it right now. there were so many impressions, they're all at my flickr account:

that day again......

the 5th of September. A date that starts playing the yin-yang orchestra again. Was it good or was it bad to come to Israel and .. would I do it all over again if given the chance? I'd like to pick out the bad things and leave only the good things that happened to me since coming here but I also know that without the bad things the good things couldn't have happened. The Devil is creating Paradise but not without letting you go through Hell first....

This Saturday stands in light of the Kingfisher. I have complained so terribly much about his evasive nature (or him just teasing me) that it almost felt as if he wanted to tell me to just shut up and photograph him and get it over with (that's how many times he posed for me today).

So, lots of Kingfisher photos (so they can't get lost like many of my photos did in the computer crash) and some other photos of experiences along the way.

FisherWOman was back again. I had missed her (it's funny how I get attached to people I spent only minutes a week talking with) .... She has spent over 2 months with her 3 sons who live in the U.S. She was so excited. Told me about her outings and trips there and would even like to live there. But... her husband doesn't because.............................

of his smoking :D Hahahahhaha it is more difficult to smoke there even than it is here. What is this witch-hunt kinda thing? What have we, smokers, become? Outlaws, people to look down at... It's so fucking silly it makes me chuckle. All those petty laws while cars keep on suffocating me (really: I have to stop breathing when I stand near a stop-light because of the poisonous fumes that honestly grab my throat and suffocate me slowly). Yes, it is accepted in a manner of "well, what can we do?" but smoking should be frowned upon. Go To Hell.

The first few photos start with something else while it will continue with an endless series of Mr. Kingfisher ;)

The bunnies have made it to Fairytaletree territory. They used to live on Rabbit Hill (right across Fairytaletree area) - but I suppose they have, like me, given in to that tree's magic:

Very near to that I saw this cat again who becomes more friendly the more we meet. In the beginning he or she placed his nose in the air when I started talking to him/her but now he or she sweetly 'miauws' at me as if to say "goodday to you too, my dear" ;)

Not far away from there- when continuing on my route -I heard loud (very, very loud) noises coming from 'up above'. Upon looking up I noticed a club of birds had formed itself on one of the lamp posts. There were pigeons, mynahs and sparrows. I obviously have no clue what they were talking about but it looked like an amazing gathering:

A rather sorrow view of the Frangipani that have fallen off the tree I used to smell from across the street last year and this year even when standing close doesn't spread aromas that even resemble that :( I wonder why? Is it the lack of water?

Mr. & Mrs. Egret were there again at the big mezah. They keep a keen eye on the fishermen and almost resemble hungry doggies begging for food. This one flew away after one of those fishermen decided it was time to go home:

Guess what this little dot up in the skies above the lamp posts in the Nemaal is? The clue follows hereunder hahahaha

Here he is........... ladies and gentlemen, the one and only.......... Mr. Kingfisher:

Relaxing on Friday

Mr. Kingfisher sits at the end of my mezah and is not yet aware of the 'huge' wave that is going to try to cover him:

Kneeling down before the sea isn't a strange thing to do I think but this guy over at my mezah wasn't thinking of when photographing it:

Two Egrets were begging for food near a fisherman on the big mezah:

Besides.... the whole of that big mezah was rather busy with fishermen:

I was looking up at every plane that took off from Sde Dov and hovered over my head today because in 2 weeks time I will be sitting in one and that's scaring me stiff:

In Fairytaletree I managed to capture the gorgeous blue of a Palestine Sunbird though the photo itself is of very poor quality:

Also while on route to the Nemaal I was witness of a crow-row. They were terribly noisy and cruel to each other.

The woman who feeds Ms.Cat every day is back. I had already noticed Ms. Cat was getting skinnier but that was, as it turned out, because the woman has been on holiday for one month.

Finally he gave in to me :-)

Mr. Kingfisher (IJsvogel in Dutch and Shaldag in Hebrew) that is. He gave in after having teased me for weeks on no end with this penetratious tjilping sounds letting me know he was passing me by swift as lighting so hardly giving me a chance to see him, let alone take photos of him.

Today he suddenly came to sit close to me :p
Well, close enough to zoom in and take a photo (or rather tens and tens of photos - reducing the chance of failure). Twice he did this and I felt honored. So photos hereunder.

This post has more photos than usual (even more, I should say) because I lost my photos twice already in the last 2 years and this is the only way I am sure I can keep them.

Yesterday it was nice at the Nemaal and today was extra-ordinary because of Mr. Kingfisher. Also at the Yarkon bridge it was nicer today than it was yesterday. Momma Lapwing is still chasing all the birds away who even dare to come close to her area (also photos of, underneath) and she actually is very aggressive in that as well. What surprise me most of all is that all birds indeed seem afraid of her because soon as she lifts off in flight and starts her chase they quickly fly away. Even real large birds like Egrets.

The last photo looks like a cartoon to me but I totally agree with what the sign says (translation is "I am a beach, not a huge ashtray, OK?!)

Fairytalefish hasn't been around this week anymore. It was nice as long as it lasted...
